FAIRFIELD – “In the Country” with artist Dennis Ariza runs at the Solano Town Center Gallery until October 29th.
The Fairfield-Suisun City Visual Arts Association invites the public and art enthusiasts to view the show, which features work by some of the more than 70 participating association members, focusing on what a statement describes as a wide-ranging and inspiring subject .
Northern California offers numerous natural scenes from San Pablo Bay to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and everything in between. The association’s award-winning artists specialize in painting and photography, make jewelry and glassware and create sculpture.
They will sum up all their creative juices to express the beauty that surrounds them. In addition to the featured work of the show.
The featured artist is award-winning photographer Dennis Ariza, who features images used in two of his published books, Bodie, A Ghost Town! and Photographing California.
“Bodi, A Ghost Town!” takes a long look at a city that once was and chronicles its history through photography over time. The book came out last year. Photographing California, out this year, is mostly about day trips in California that sometimes include overnight stays in the eastern Sierra Nevada. The book also provides recommendations on where to stay and times in connection with visitor centers and major tourist destinations.
Ariza is President of the Fairfield-Suisun City Visual Arts Association and has been a member for 10 years.
