“A little bit of that, a little bit of that
The Nintendo Switch Road Trip took place August 25-28 at CityWalk Hollywood in front of Universal Cinema. Guests could pre-register for the event and play demos of 3 games – Mario Strikers: Battle League, Nintendo Switch Sports and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. There were also photo opportunities featuring a Kirby statue and a warp tube with a backdrop highlighting the opening of Super Nintendo World in early 2023!
Much of the exterior of the highly anticipated Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen has been obscured by scaffolding and black sheets. We can see that some work has been completed on the chimney-like structures above. It seems that a lot is also being done in the interior design. We haven’t heard an opening date yet.
The Universal Studio Store at CityWalk Hollywood has received a Halloween Horror Night makeover. With The Weeknd front and center, the names of the houses at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights will be displayed for everyone to see as they head toward the park.
The scaffolding on top of Bowser’s Castle has been removed and we can now clearly see Bowser’s emblem. We can also see that slight additions have been made to the warp pipe.
Signs have been posted throughout the park to inform guests that the park is preparing for Halloween Horror Nights.
As guests enter the park, they can walk down New York Street to see the decorations for the Sideshow Slaughterhouse.
Día de los Muertos decorations are placed around Universal Plaza.
The Animal Actors stage environment has been transformed into the Haunted Forest!
The walls around the house at the Parisian court were torn down to reveal the entrance and a fountain.
Many decorations and puesto de periodicos were placed around French Street.
The Minions are ready for Halloween too! New Halloween-themed art has been installed along the walls of the Minion Cafe.
A unique flap has been installed between the StarWay escalators, which is very suitable for Halloween horror nights. Perfect for a photo op!
Here’s a look at the Universal Monsters: Legends Collide home.
Behind the Universal Monsters: Legends Collide house we can see the Killer Klowns From Outer Space tent.
A sign for The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare Bar has appeared near Jurassic Outfitters.
As well as the new Character Shop we have a killer BBQ From Outer Space tent. We are already looking forward to the delicious food offers!
The Curious George Lot has cleaned up and we can see some lights along with barricades set up around the houses.
Opening day is fast approaching and we are very excited for the return of Horror Nights!
Guests can now purchase Super Nintendo World merchandise from the new Character Shop in the Lower Lot. As a reminder, the discounts for Pass members do not apply to these goods!
That’s enough for this month’s photo update. See you in the fog! As always, we wish you the best and thank you for following our ongoing coverage of Universal Parks and Resorts.
