JOHANNESBURG – Kombonation is adding Focalistic to its Night Embassy event lineup this weekend and is working with great New York designer KidSuper.

Night Embassy JHB ambassadors explore new avenues in nightlife culture in their residences in November and December.

Night Embassy Johannesburg by Jägermeister is a residency program around ‘Freiraum’ – a space for unbridled self-development and limitless creativity.

This week is the offer of the Kaofela Kaofela residence from Kombonation.

The event will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the White House in Meadowlands, Soweto.

Amapiano superstar Focalistic will perform on Saturday at 6 p.m.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the New York streetwear cult label KidSuper is coming to Johannesburg on Wednesday to create a t-shirt collection with Kombonation, consisting of the Soweto photographer / design duo Kananelo Kabelo Sello and Kgotso Selomah.

KidSuper currently wants to show this collaboration – and possibly an extended one – in its exhibition in New York.

This is a Kombonation dream as much of their work is inspired by KidSuper.

The graduates of the Market Photography Workshop Sello and Selomah founded Kombonation in 2018.

They are a Soweto-based pre-to-post production startup that specializes in real and raw visual storytelling.

Sello and Selomah also create clothing that demonstrates their photographic skills and expresses the narratives that exist inside and outside of their images. Your clothes, events and appearances are from the kasi, for the kasi – and beyond.

“We honestly made a long proposal to the Night Embassy Johannesburg team to bring KidSuper on board Kaofela Kaofela so we can really explore Kasi and local brands that offer more than just ‘drops’. Kombonation got a lot more than they expected when KidSuper even brought this range and the Ambassador duo to New York City for their exhibition in 2022! ”Said Selomaha

At the age of 30, KidSuper has become a cultural phenomenon – designer, artist, athlete, producer, trendsetter. In a few years he has taken over fashion and designed for Sean Mendes, Russ, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, Puma, Steve Aoiki and more. The only thing more impressive than winning the LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize from KidSuper is his ability to predict the next trend, his unconventional approach to art and design, his devotion to his friends and fan base, and his overarching affinity for Jägermeister .

Jägermeister has been integrated into all of its events and celebratory moments over the past few years, including its very first Art Show, its birthday / Halloween party with ASAP Rocky and Paris Fashion Week.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Kombonation is hosting the Kasi Night Experience of a Lifetime – Kaofela Kaofela, where you can enjoy exhibitions, fashion, photography, talks, games, street sports, performances and DJ sets that influence the get-together lifestyle, ekasi . Tickets for this edition of Night Embassy Johannesburg from Jägermeister cost R50 for a day pass.

Kombonation’s residence is called “Kaofela, Kaofela” as the saying “Together we can do more” is part of Kombonation’s moral code. “We are a collaborative effort, so we value the unity in the community very much. We believe that our dream can only come true if our community, our fans and society as a whole understand that this is a collaborative effort, ”said Sello.

“At the White House in Soweto, we will exhibit our community’s visual and performing arts, incorporating elements of street culture such as clothing and street sports that influence the socializing lifestyle, Ekasi,” said Selomah.

“From a combination collection fashion show to discussions with special guests who influence urban culture in creativity, sport and entertainment, we will maintain an atmosphere of togetherness from this festive season to infinity,” adds Selomah.

The events are moderated by Kaymo ke Superstar and Leighnah. Hip-hop, dancehall, soul and amapiano DJs and performers will perform on the White House stage.
