Everything you need to know about Decentraland Metaverse Art Week

Decentraland has done it again, this time with their Metaverse Art Week! Following the success of Decentraland Fashion Week, Decentraland Metaverse Art Week promises to be a celebration of the arts. This year’s event, taking place from August 24th to 28th, is inspired by the Venice Biennale and carries the official slogan “The World Is Made Of Code”.

This week is Decentraland Metaverse Art Week.

About Decentral and Metaverse Art Week

This year’s Metaverse Art Week is curated by David Cash, who brought this year’s theme to life through 3D sculptures and videos in collaboration with some of the top names in the art world. They include Lady Gaga’s creative director Nicola Formichetti, contemporary artist Krista Kim and acclaimed fashion photographer Nick Knight.

“At this point in the history of the metaverse, artists and curators are constantly struggling between fidelity and how many users can experience a virtual space at once,” said David Cash. “During the third edition of Art Week, we have the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds by showcasing multiple large scale artworks in their full resolution. I am excited to see how this experimental yet new realm of technical possibilities will inspire artists to create work that exceeds their wildest dreams.”

The four-day event includes performances, concept art productions, NFT exhibitions, art installations and panel discussions. The main events take place in Soho Plaza, Decentraland’s arts district that has been converted into an open-air museum. In addition, the Voltaire Art District also hosts art collective exhibitions and panel discussions from leading art and Web3 thought leaders.
