Laura and Dustin were married on November 10 at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock.
Laura had so many great ideas for the wedding. Everything worked together so well, and I have seldom seen a bride more at ease on the day of the wedding. But, I will share with you one of the worries we had before the wedding.
Laura had planned an evening wedding for November, understanding that there would be enough light behind the Clinton Library to make it work. When we realized that it would, in fact, be pretty dark back there, videographer Paul Veifhaus of Sunflower Films, Ltd., and I started plotting to make it work. In my own opinion, it not only worked, but was extremely pretty! But, you can be the judge of that in a minute.
I love the colors of this wedding, and all the great decorating ideas that this couple managed to bring together in such a way that everything fit together perfectly. I love that this was such a laid-back day with very little stress for the bride. I love the way Laura’s bridesmaids took care of her and supported her. But most of all I love the way Dustin smiles when he looks at Laura!
My assistant, Cary Jenkins, did a wonderful job on this wedding as well, and she is responsible for some of the great shots you see below.
The hearts with the bridesmaids’ initials tied to their glasses with twine helped everyone identify their drink while they were getting ready. I found the perfect combination of details on the same table: the garter sitting on top of the marriage license.
Laura’s TOMS shoes were custom painted, and were an excellent choice for the soft turf behind the Clinton Library.
Laura asked me to “take a picture of my coffee cup” shortly after I arrived. She had gone to Starbucks and asked them to write “Bride” on her cup, and instead they wrote “Beautiful Bride.” I love the color combinations on the flowers!
Bridesmaids T-shirts read, “The Real Bridesmaids of Laura’s Wedding.” Laura’s shirt: “The Real Mrs. McElyea.”
We got the chance to do a quick bridal portrait at sunset just outside the library!
Laura loved this photo of her face while she was talking to Dustin before the wedding (love it when brides have such a great sense of humor!) This will be in the wedding album!
The Grand Ballroom at the Clinton Presidential Center is just beyond lovely.
Laura dancing with her father.
DJ Mario from Central Arkansas Entertainment really livened up the evening.
