Wedding Trends: Peacock Colors

Maybe it’s because I’m a photographer, but it seems I really notice color trends in weddings.

Thankfully, we seem to be long beyond the days of pastel peach and mint green. I love the rich, luxurious colors that have characterized weddings the last few years. Every year, a couple of colors seem to catch on, and this year at the bridal fair I saw some of my absolute favorite colors appearing over and over again.

For today’s post, I’ll focus on one: peacock blue.

Peacock hues are nothing new to weddings, and I’ve seen a lot of peacock feathers the last couple of years, but this year it seemed almost half the booths featured some variation on this. Whether it was a touch of peacock blue in a bouquet, lovely teal glassware and china, or actual peacock feathers, variations on this color were popping up everywhere.

This rich hue blends well with a variety of other colors, as you can see from some of the examples above. Other peacock color appearances: Tanarah Luxe Floral and Event Styling featured touches of blue among predominantly warm colors (orange, cream, pink and gold). I also saw lots of rich blue fondant on cakes, and Designs on the Move’s booth was feathered with soft fabric and lit with blue light. Day Lily’s booth featured blue and orange pillows on a cream-colored sofa.
