Alexis and Kurt: Married!

Kurt and Alexis got married at the Hilton Garden Inn in Conway, Arkansas, on August 22, 2009.

We started the day with photos of Alexis getting ready at her mom’s house just north of Conway … actually really close to Pickle’s Gap, a name familiar to anyone who has ever driven up toward Branson or the Buffalo River.

Getting makeup and hair done before the wedding. I like the clock in the background. It shows that the photo was taken in a mirror, and it also emphasizes something that is always at a premium when getting ready for a wedding: time!

When all was ready, we got to go out to the barn (stepping carefully!) to take photos with her bridesmaids. Everyone was wearing tennis shoes or boots for a fun, informal photo. Also, the light was fabulous.

We then went to the University of Central Arkansas campus for "first look" photos and some portraits and group photos. It was after a few posed photos of Alexis and Kurt that I captured this sweet kiss.

We did portraits by the fountain. I loved the slightly edgy light on this one, and the way the dress falls.

The three-year-old ring bearer had his own special method for transporting the ring bearer's pillow, much to the amusement of the guests.

I loved this idea: to have guests write greetings and good advice for the couple on pieces of colored paper.
